Action and Confirm Buttons
Action buttons may appear on both detail and tabular forms at the bottom of the work frame.
Action buttons can:
- Issue the appropriate command and redisplay the view. This is a direct action that requires no
confirmation.
- Display a confirmation panel, which may contain fields for further input and buttons to
confirm or cancel the completion of the task.
For detail views, the action is performed on the resource displayed on the view. However,
for tabular views, you can mark multiple records for an action by selecting the check boxes
displayed in the first column. To perform the action on all the records, you can use the
Select all icon,
,
if available. The
Deselect all icon,
,
cancels your existing selection. On a summarized display, the number next to the check box in the left-hand
column indicates the number of records combined into the single line of
summary information, and the number in the column title line of the check
box column indicates the total number of records in the summary. If you
mark more than one record for an action, the behavior depends on the type
of action as follows:
- Direct action requiring no confirmation:
The action is carried out for all marked records. When the operation is complete, the view is redisplayed with all the check marks reset
- Actions requiring confirmation panel
The confirmation panel is displayed for the first marked record, containing at least one of the 'Yes', 'No', 'Yes to n remaining', and 'No to n remaining' buttons. If the 'Yes' or 'No' buttons are selected the action is performed or not, as appropriate, and the confirmation panel is displayed for the next marked record, and so on. If the 'Yes to n remaining' action is selected the action is carried out for all remaining marked records
When the operation is complete, all check marks are reset.
