Managing Multiple Resources

With a detail view you can perform an operation on one resource only. With a tabular and summarized view, you can perform an operation on one or more resources. On a tabular view, you can select one, several, or all resources. On a summarized view, you can select one, several, or all summarized lines. Note that, in this case, any action affects all the resources that make up each selected summarized line.

For some actions, for example, enabling a transaction, the action is performed immediately for all the selected resources. For some actions that might have severe impacts on users of the system, for example, creating or updating resource definitions, a confirmation panel is displayed. The action associated with each button is defined using the View Editor.

To use a confirmation panel:

  1. You will see a detail display for the first resource in your selection with a message asking you to confirm the requested action. Check that you have the required resource. You might also be able to make parameter changes.
  2. Confirm or cancel the action by clicking the appropriate button, which typically might be:
    Yes to n remaining
Perform the action for this and the n remaining resources in the selection list.
    Yes
Perform the action for this resource only and display the next resource in the selection list.
    No to n remaining
Cancel the operation for this and the n remaining resources in the selection list, then return to the previous view.
    No
Do not perform the action for this resource and display the details of the next resource in the selection list.
  3. If you clicked either the Yes or the No button, the details for the next resource in your selection list are displayed. Repeat Step 2 until all the resources in your selection list have been dealt with.
